Mua School for the deaf registering learners

A window of education opportunity has opened for children with hearing challenges at Mua School for the Deaf in Dedza District as an assessment is scheduled to take place next week.

“Yes, I can confirm that Mua School for the Deaf will conduct an assessment exercise to enroll learners for the next academic year [2018/19 school calendar] on 5, 6, and 7 June 2018,” said Henry Chiwaya, the school’s head  teacher.

He said children should be aged between five and six.

Chiwaya: We want children to come and register

“I would like the public to assist us in spreading the message. We do not want children to miss registration. This is a good opportunity for their education,” Chiwaya said.

He said the school is facing food and understaffing challenges and appealed for assistance.

He commended government and the Catholic Church for their support to the school.

Catholic Brother Ludwin Speth established the school in 1984. It is co-funded  by government and other stakeholders. n
