MultiChoice slashes DStv subscription

Digital satellite television (DStv) local franchise holder MultiChoice Malawi has reduced monthly subscription prices for various bouquets on offer.

The reduced prices are effective November 1 2016 and come with service upgrade.

Speaking during the Business Unusual event on Tuesday at Atmosphere Grill and Lounge in Blantyre, MultiChoice Malawi marketing manager Chimwemwe Nyirenda described the subscription price slash and package upgrade as a revolution.

“True to our commitment to our customers, today MultiChoice is announcing a decrease on DStv subscription prices alongside a massive content upgrade,” said Nyirenda.

He acknowledged that subscription figures have been shaky because of persistent power blackouts.

With the reduced subscription prices, DStv Premium has been pegged at K55 600 from K61 000; Compact Plus is at K35 700 from K42 100; Compact is at K22 300 from K23 800 while DStv Family will cost K12 700 from K16 700.

“This significant price drop, coupled with the major boost in entertainment value across all DStv bouquets, demonstrates our commitment to ensuring DStv customers receive the best possible access to great entertainment and outstanding value,” said MultiChoice Malawi general manager Stephen Knight. n
