Mwando’s Tanzania opponent in today

Brian Mwando’s Tanzanian opponent Mischeck Mwenyenye is scheduled to arrive in the country today through Lilongwe for next Friday’s non-title super-middleweight bout at Robin’s Park in Blantyre.

According to promoter of the bout Robin Alufandika of Alufandika Boxing Promotions, Mwenyenye is scheduled to proceed to Blantyre on Saturday to step up his preparations for the bout.

Meanwhile, Mwando has since stepped up preparations for the eight-round fight.

“Of course, due to the suspension, I was rusty, but I am fully fit now,” said the 25-year-old boxer.

Mwando has a record of nine wins and four losses while his opponent, Mwenyenye, 32, is one of the top boxers in Tanzania and boasts a record of six wins and one loss.
