Mzuni FC secures Pannar Seed sponsorship

Northern Region Premier League side Mzuzu University Football Club had a wonderful awakening on Friday when Pannar Seed Malawi Limited officially committed to be a full sponsor of the side.

During the flowery occasion, marking the partnership, college students had a 10 kilometre parade to celebrate the team’s new lease of life.

Professor Fred Msiska, who represented Mzuzu University vice-chancellor, said the sponsorship is auguring well with the commencement of Public Private Partnership (PPP) government is persuading.

“It is clear that both parties will benefit from the partnership. The team will be wearing Pannar Seed jersey anytime; hence, advertising the company’s products while the team will be eased from its resource constraints,” said Msiska.

Msiska revealed that the team was experiencing difficulties fulfilling its fixtures due to shortage of resources.

“We are now proud to announce that failure to fulfill league fixture due to shortage of resources is a history. What is needed now is for us to demonstrate our potential. We need to pull our socks to perfume well so that we should sustain the confidence the sponsors has on us,” he said.

Mzuzu University emerged second runners up in the previous Northern Region Mzuzu and District Simama League.

In his remarks, Pannar Seed Malawi Limited managing director Nicholas Bennett said his company realises the important role customers play towards strategic achievements of the company goal hence the need to give back to the community.

“We know that football is the famous sporting activity that most of Malawians likes. With that in mind we did not hesitate to come in and sponsor the team upon being approached,” said Bennett.

With the partnership, the company will be providing the team with jerseys, socks, boots and fuel for the team’s sojourn.

So far, according to Bennett, the company has already allocated K500 000 to be remitted to the team for the ongoing playing season.
