National Bank of Malawi (NBM) has said it decided to convert the Fiesta Save promotion account into a fully fledged savings account to promote the culture of saving in the country.

NBM general manager Mac Fussy Kawawa told NBM customers during an interaction evening in Mangochi on Friday that the Fiesta Save account will increase the culture of saving for Malawians.

“We thought we should turn the Fiesta Save promotion account into a fully fledged savings account to complement government’s efforts of promoting a savings culture which is very important for the improvement of our economy,” said Kawawa.

NBM introduced the Fiesta Save promotion late last year where customers were encouraged to deposit a minimum of K20 000 every month into the Fiesta Save promotion account to win various prizes.

Kawawa told the Mangochi customers that now the Fiesta Save account attracts a monthly deposit of K10 000 and withdraws are done at the counter quarterly.

Kawawa also hailed customers in Mangochi for patronising the event saying the bank appreciates their support.

“”We believe that our success over the years has been as a result of the superb service that we offer to our customers and that is why we are currently interacting with them across the country to get feedback on our services and products,” said Kawawa.

He said they got positive feedback on their services from their Mangochi customers.
