Flames attacking midfielder Robin Ngalande has been released by Ajax Cape Town at the end of his one-year loan spell after the South Africa Premier Soccer League  (PSL) decided against signing him permanently.

Ajax website reported that the former Atletico Madrid youth prospect has returned to his parent club BidVest Wits alongside other players whose time is also over.

“A host of players, who joined the club on loan, are now at the end of their loan spells, which means that Clifford Mulenga, Robin Ngalande, Erwin Isaacs and Thabiso Nkoana have all departed from Ikamva. Phatizwe Sacolo was released his failure to live up to expectation after spending a few months at the club,” reads the club’s statement.

Ajax announced that they had released the players such as Ngalande ahead of the start of pre-season preparations for the 2015/16 Absa Premiership campaign.

Ngalande managed few appearances at Ajax, where the youth thrive, and his woes were compounded by a below par 2015 Cosafa Cup showing when former coach Young Chimodzi substituted him for Bashir Maunde a few minutes after sending him for on.

Other players that have been released are Dominic Isaacs who is arguably one of the biggest departures from Ajax after the 2014/15 PSL season. The veteran defender will see his contract with the club come to an end on June 30 2015.
