NICO Life awards long serving staff, best agents

NICO Life Insurance Company Limited says 2017 has been a good year in terms of business compared to last year despite the company facing some challenges.

NICO Life Insurance Company’s chief executive officer (CEO) Eric Chapola said the company has since registered increased premiums this year than 2016 due to its enhanced performance on the market.

Chapola said this on Friday when he presented certificates of recognition to 12 employees who have served the company for ten years and longer, as well as 12 outstanding agents at a ceremony held at the company’s Head Office in Blantyre.

“This far 2017 has been very good for us; we have done [well] and the performance is better than in 2016. The only challenge we have faced as an organisation is that the number of actual policies in the individual line business was not as good as we budgeted,” Chapola said.

In his remarks, Hastings Katsekera who was awarded for long service [25 years] thanked the company for the recognition. He said it will serve as a motivation for others while he prepares for retirement.

Employees who have also worked for the company for the past ten to fifteen years in its Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu branches were also awarded and received prizes ranging from cash to two bags of cement counted each year from the first year of service.
