Nomads GS claims BB supporters insulted him

Be Forward Wanderers general secretary Mike Butao has accused unidentified Nyasa Big Bullets fans of insulting him and the Nomads team manager Stevie Madeira through a WhatsApp group.
Butao claims that the Bullets fans started insulting him on Monday when they added him to the group.

“They insulted me all night and when they saw that I was not responding, they also added Madeira. They removed me at around 2am on Tuesday,” he said.
Asked what might have prompted the Bullets fans to take them on, Butao said: “I suspect at this point that it was out of frustration over what happened on the transfer market and nothing more.

So what do we do?: Butao (L) seems to be
asking Madeira

“One of the issues was about Dave Banda, the player who has reportedly signed for Bullets but has a running contract with us. We signed the boy in August last year from Nsanama FC [of Machinga] alongside Anthony Namwera on a five-year deal each,” he said.

On the way forward, Butao said they would make a formal complaint to Bullets executive committee on the conduct of their fans.
“It is not my intention to enter into unnecessary confrontation with Bullets because our rivalry is civilised. They are our brothers. But I will list down the numbers and hand them over to Bullets executive but if it continues, then I will have to report to police,” he said.

Bullets main supporters committee chairperson Stone Mwamadi said he was not aware of the issue.

“If it has [already] been reported to the executive, then it has not been brought to my attention. Nevertheless, I will follow it up to get to the bottom of the issue and then map the way forward.
“But if indeed it did happen, then it is very unfortunate because we do not condone such type of behaviour at Bullets. Ndizachikale zimenezo [it is being primitive] and the necessary action will be taken on the culprits,” he said.

Meanwhile , Nsanama team manager Joe Chembe yesterday denied being party to Banda’s deal, claiming that the player does not have a contract with the Nomads.
“If the player indeed has a contract with Wanderers, how come he played for another team last season? Let them produce the contract,” he challenged.

Reacting to Chembe’s claims, Butao said: “The contract is at our secretariat and any reporter or Bullets official are free to go and have a look at it. In fact, he [Chembe] is a witness to the contract. Even the player himself knows it.” 
