Nomads players resume training

Be Forward Wanderers players resumed training yesterday after reaching an agreement with the club’s management over their outstanding game bonuses.

The players boycotted training on Tuesday to demand bonuses for nine games amounting to about K4.5 million.

However, according to team captain Francis ‘FM7’ Mulimbika and team manager Stevie Madeira, the players softened up following a meeting they had with some executive committee members on Tuesday afternoon.

Said Mulimbika: “We agreed to receive part of the bonuses on the understanding that they will pay us the remainder in due course.

“So, I can confirm that for now the issue has been resolved and we have resumed training.”

On his part, Madeira said: “The issue has been resolved amicably and we want to thank the players for their understanding. Our focus has now switched to Sunday’s TNM Super League game against Kamuzu Barracks [in Balaka].”

The Nomads lead the 16-team log table with 35 points from 15 games, a point above second-placed Silver Strikers who have played a game more.
