Listen to this article

Inter-denominational drama group, the Parables, has gone beyond stage evangelism to lessen the plight of a blind student at Blantyre Secondary School.

According to its director Bayana Chunga, the Parables have invested proceeds from their first show, held at Robin’s Park on December 26 last year, in alleviating educational needs of  BSS Form One student Wellos Kalombola.

“We are committed to supporting Wellos for the next four years. We believe that social responsibility is a call for all of us whether we are Christians or not,” said Chunga.

The group has since introduced a Blind Student Scholarship Award to encourage students with visual impairments in various schools.
