Malawi’s Christian theatre group Parables will on Sunday premiere their third play, Lost Salt at the Blantyre Cultural Centre.

According to the group’s director Bayana Chunga the play focuses on challenges Christians face at workplace.

He said the play is a nine-cast member and uses humour, seriousness and practical theology to discuss controversial and yet pertinent issues in the office environment.

“Using everyday office stories and traditions, Lost Salt reveals some of the deep challenges that a 21st Century Malawian Christian faces when Christian ethics are put to the test in a secular workplace,” said Chunga.

He explained that the play is centred around Dr. Goliati, played by Clement Nkhoma, who turns a successful company into a personal estate and gets concerned. David,a young professional Christian, challenges the doctor but comes across group dynamics and pangs of reality.

“I wanted the Parables to do something different, something outside the home. At the same time, I was motivated by the magnitude of ethical battles in our Malawian offices,” said Chunga.
