CCAP Blantyre City Presbytery of the Blantyre Synod has said partnerships between churches also strengthen relationships between countries.

Blantyre City Presbytery clerk Reverend Baxton Maulidi said this at Chileka International Airport on Thursday when the presbytery received a five member-delegation from Aberdeen, Scotland.

“Our long standing partnership has strengthened not only our relations as a church, but also Scotland and Malawi.

“Today, we are happy to receive you to Malawi and our partnership is bearing positive fruits through the twinning of our churches,” Maulidi told the visitors.

Leader of the Aberdeen delegation, Reverend Robert Smith said they were overwhelmed by the reception.

“We are not taking this for granted. It symbolises that Malawi is, indeed, The Warm Heart of Africa,” said Smith.

Other members of the delegation, which winds up its visit on July 15 2015, are Reverend Peter Johnson, Margo Mitchell, Fiona Benz and Sheilla Ogden.

During their short visit, Smith and his colleagues visited many places, including Chigodi Women’s Centre, HHI Feeding Centre, Tiyamike Orphanage in Machinjiri, Blantyre Synod Health Development Commission, Blantyre Synod Radio, Namasimba Orphanage in Nancholi, Bangwe Weaving Factory and also paid a courtesy call on Blantyre City Mayor Noel Chalamanda.
