Classic, massive, exceptional and standard were phrases that some patrons used to describe Patience Namadingo’s concert held  on Saturday night at Comesa Hall in Blantyre.

The concert, dubbed All New Namadingo brand, was derived from a local concept called Konkuno and attracted an impressive audience from different backgrounds.

Business captains, politicians, pastors, lawyers, musicians and models were all there to witness Namadingo and his VIP Band unleashing the potential of the local industry.

“I am impressed with this young man. He is innovative. I mean, I like everything from the setup of the stage and sound engineering. This is the way to go,” remarked business person Mike Chilewe of Mike’s Trading Enterprise.

He underscored the need for the country’s corporate world to promote local brands and grow together with them.

Some of those who attended the show are former Blantyre City mayor Noel Chalamanda and his wife Pempho and Prophet Justice Hara.

Hara bought Namadingo’s CD at a whopping K1 million, attracting a thunderous applause from the audience.

He described the concert as one of international standard while calling upon Malawians to support homegrown industries.

“I am blessed tonight. This young man is talented and his music is inspirational. If we can support such exceptional talents, Malawi cannot be the same. We need to grow our local industry together,” said Hara.

Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) TV personality Dyson Milanzie said he enjoyed the show, saying it was full of creativity.

Namadingo hailed the audience for its unwavering support rendered to him during the concert.

“I am because you are. Together we can build a great industry that can put Malawi on the map,” he said.
