PP aspirant demands back donation

People’s Party aspiring member of Parliament (MP) for Rumphi West Constituency, Jane Kabogodo Gondwe, has snatched the medical supplies she donated two weeks ago to Bolero Health Centre.

Health centre in-charge Wisdom Nyimbiri said Gondwe visited the facility yesterday morning with her campaign director to take back the supplies which included eight mattresses, six beds, one drip stand and two trolleys.

“She told me that people from this area did not vote for her; hence, she demanded to take back all the supplies she donated,” Nyimbiri said.

He said he consulted the district health officer (DHO) who, with permission from the district commissioner (DC), let Gondwe take back the donated items.

In a telephone interview, Gondwe confirmed taking back the items.

Gondwe has lost the election to independent candidate Jacqueline KquwenHoven who at the time of going to press was leading with 8 359 votes against her 1 802 votes.

  1. I guess the people recognized her as a petty person who is not really interested in the welfare of the constituents and gave her what she deserved.

  2. That’s what PP deserves. handing out cows and promoting chiefs is not development. Joyce banda trying to buy votes through hand outs did not work either
