Ramadhan extends holiday

Nyasa Big Bullets coach Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan has asked for an extension of his holiday.

Ramadhan applied for leave upon the expiry of his four-game suspension a fortnight ago to attend to a sick relative in his native Burundi and was supposed to resume work today.

Lanjesi: I pulled my muscles

But Bullets general secretary Albert Chigoga yesterday said the coach sent an e-mail a few days ago, saying his relation is still not in good condition.

“So, on humanitarian grounds, we have accepted his request and his assistant Elia Kananji will remain in charge. This means that Ramadhan will not be available for the Blantyre derby against Be Forward Wanderers this weekend,” he said.

In a related development, the People’s Team captain John ‘Kintu’ Lanjesi will also miss the derby due to an injury.

Apparently, the injury has also coincided with his Islamic Nikka wedding slated for this Saturday in Lilongwe.

“It is just a mere coincidence; otherwise I still would not have played due to the injury,” he said.

Lanjesi will wed his long-time sweetheart Shakira Mwandira and the reception is slated for Civo Hall. n
