Nyasa Big Bullets coach Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan has apologised to the club for his failure to report for duties last week following the expiry of his extended leave.

This follows an e-mail which the club’s general secretary Albert Chigoga wrote the mentor on Tuesday warning that if he did not report for duties by the end of the first round, the club will be forced to advertise his job.

Ramadhan: I am sorry

Part of Ramadhan’s response, which The Nation has seen, reads: “I have been quiet for some time because of the situations I found here. I take this opportunity to inform you that I will report on August 28 2017.

“I am sorry for the inconvenience. Unfortunately it is beyond my control.”

Ramadhan is reportedly attending to his sick father in his native country Burundi.

Part of the e-mail from Chigoga which was also copied to Football Association of Malawi (FAM) and sponsors Nyasa Manufacturing Company (NMC), among others, reads:  “You have honestly put us in an awkward position as management of the team. Our continued use of Elia Kananji as an acting head coach beyond the requested duration of your leave, has made us pay huge fines to FAM which is very unfortunate.

“I expected you to explain reasons for the extended leave other than keeping quiet, thereby making your absence speculative.

“Since FAM has already allowed us to use Elia as coach until the end of the first round, may I request you to report for duties immediately at the end of the first round. Failure to report for duties as advised will force the executive to advertise your position as head coach of NBB.”

As a result of his absence, FAM fined Bullets K100 000 for using Kananji who does not possess the required CAF B licence. n
