Religious bodies in the country have been asked to intensify prayers for good rains.
The call made by Sheikh Abdul Razzak Fattani, executive director for Islamic Relief Agency (IRA) in an interview recently.
“We are concerned that rains are not coming and time is elapsing for planting. We are, therefore, calling on all religious bodies to join hands in praying for rains.
“We plant with the first rains which normally come mid November, but we are in the first week of December, a time we are supposed to be weeding,” said Fattani.
He said the delay  has forced the Muslim community to start seeking the face of God in prayer, adding they would continue with prayers every Friday.
He said the prayers should petition for rains that are not destructiven
