Ticket sales at entertainment venues in the country will soon go digital, thanks to newly-formed e-commerce enterprise called Kambuku.com in Blantyre.

The technology firm yesterday unveiled the e-ticketing sales product, called V2.O, aimed at helping consumers and producers curb fraud.

One of the founders of Kambuku.com, Dalitso Ntonga, told The Nation that the product will give users a safe and cheaper way to generate, purchase and verify tickets.

“Basically, ticketing is expensive as quite a significant amount goes into its production. Then there is the issue of fraud as a lot of counterfeit tickets are easily produced,” he said.

Therefore, Kambuku.com seeks to promote efficiency while curbing fraud,” said Ntonga.

Of late, fraud has marred high profile events in the country such as Jamaican’s Busy Signal concerts, according to Impakt Events, organisers of Sand Music Festival.

Director of Impakt Events Lucius Banda is on the record as having complained that his major events have registered losses despite investing huge capital.

“We have brought Busy Signal twice, but this has benefited some dishonest people who have been involved in fraud and reaped from us. We are still looking at the alternatives of reducing fraud during our events,” said Lucius.

But Ntonga said Kambuku.com’s electronic tickets will help to improve ticket sales and benefit the right.

“We we are offering event managers and organisers a chance to cut costs significantly by not printing any tickets, but utilise our e-tickets that we hope will save them more money and also give them the opportunity to lower prices,” said Ntonga.

He added that Kambuku.com also offers many opportunities for the ticketing because their products are manageable prices.

Www.kambuku.com  was founded last year by Ntonga and Macheza Dzabala to be the leaders in the e-commerce industry by providing excellent e-commerce services for businesses and individuals. Its mission is to improve the lives of Malawians and Africans by providing reliable, secure and innovative online platforms. n
