All set for Africa Fashion show

The stage is set. The runway carpet has been rolled. The models are ready. This is 2017 Africa Fashion Show Malawi which is set to take place from tomorrow up until Sunday.

Project manager Lorraine Kljakic told The Nation that 25 designers are set to show case their designs during the coveted event after 5 cancelled due to various reasons.

Kljakic: We are set to make history

Kljakic said preparations for the show are done.

She said: “We are set to make history and showcase unique designs that will impress fashion lovers in Malawi and beyond. We have designers from Zambia, South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Uganda, Germany, The UK, Guyana and host country Malawi.”

She said tomorrow there will be a business seminar while on Friday and Saturday there will be a runway fashion show where designers are set to showcase designs.

“In between, we will have a lot of artists performing. Locally we have Lulu, Tuno and Patience Namadingo. We also have other artists from Ghana, Swaziland as well as arts group from Dzaleka Camp,” said Kljakic.

On Sunday, there will be the shoppers paradise where patrons will have the opportunity to buy ready-to-wear designs, kids stuff and a raffle draw whose proceeds will go to Funding Girls Education -Malawi which supports needy girls with their educational needs.

According to Kljakic, patrons will pay K10 000 a day and K25 000 for the whole three days.
