Silver Strikers have started talks with a Mozambican club Costa Do Sol over services of industrious midfielder Frank Banda.

Silver chairperson McDonald Mafuta-Mwale confirmed to The Nation that Banda might not be at Silver next season.

“It is true there is a strong interest from a Mozambican club who are impressed with Frank Banda and want to sign him right away. But we are still talking towards a deal. All I can say as of now is that everything is going on well and Frank might leave,” said Mafuta-Mwale.

But Mwale could not say how much they want for Banda or how much his signing on fee will be.

Banda, who is a key national team player confirmed the development in an interview.

“I am not supposed to talk about it, but since the chairperson [Mafuta-Mwale] has already confirmed, it is true. I am looking forward to a new chapter in my life, but I will not say much until everything is done,” said Banda.

Since leaving Civo United three seasons ago, Banda has been Silver’s midfield kingpin, winning two league titles and a cup.

In a related development, Mafuta-Mwale has announced that another midfielder Green Harawa, will from January 2015, be playing in Botswana.
