On Saturday, Silver beat Mzuzu University (Mzuni) FC 1-0 and against Blantyre United, continued to impress the excited home fans with early dominance.

They opened the scoring in the 29th minute through Mark Fodya. He netted through penalty awarded after striker Binwell Katinji was fouled in the 18-yard box.

Silver increased their tally six minutes later when forward Ronald Pangani’s clinical header beat goalkeeper Christopher Mikuwa.

The Bankers could have increased their lead but they were at casual in their attacking.

United have now wrapped up the first round. They have tallied 11 points and stuck in the relegation zone.

Their coach Safalao Pompi said they are eyeing to bring in new players if they are to improve in the second round.

Silver team manager Francis Songo said their target is not to lose a game this season.

“It feels really good to get the feel of the top slot, but there is still a long way to go. We need to remain focused right to the end,” he said.

At Dedza stadium Masters Security beat Mzuni 3-2 as they continued to recover from a poor start to their debut season. n
