Simama League kicks off tomorrow

The 2017 Northern Region Football Association (NRFA) Simama League kicks off tomorrow with Karonga United FC starting their

campaign of returning to the Super League away against Lufita FC.

The 2015 Simama Premier League champions Chilumba Barracks FC will take on new entrants Ipota Shooting Stars on Sunday at Karonga Community football ground.

Msonda: All is set

Karonga United general secretary Ralph Kasililika said they are taking every game as final match because.

“Karonga Stadium is under construction. It will not be good for the district to have such a facility without a team in the Super League,” he said.

This year, 16 teams registered for the league down from last year’s 20.

NRFA fixture secretary Ollens Msonda warned that teams that will fail to fulfill fixtures should expect tough punishment.

In other games lined-up for tomorrow; Embangweni will face Manyamula at Embangweni football ground while Lura will play against Ekwendeni Hammers at Lura.

Ekwendeni United will host Luwinga FC.

On Sunday, Kawaza will take on Bolero at Kawaza; Rumphi Pirates will face Rumphi Medicals at Rumphi Police football ground. Fish Eagles will face Zolozolo United at Chibavi ground. n
