“Our schools are not just meant to teach the learners to get a certificate, but also to help them understand that they do not live for themselves, but for others,” he said.

Voice that Cares Club chairperson Ethel Banda said they came up with the donation to help the elderly woman and the granddaughter who is learning at Chisitu Primary School.

“We heard our friend lacked school uniform and learning materials. We thought it wise to reach out to her since it was not good for her to drop out of school because of simple things which we can give,” she said.

In her remarks, Mphatso thanked the students for the donation.

“Most of the times I was chased from school for not wearing school uniform. That affected my studies,” she said. n
