Super League teams join Fisd Cup battle Oct 1

TNM Super League teams will start their campaign in the newly-launched Fisd Challenge Cup on October 1 following Football Association of Malawi’s (FAM) announcement of the play-offs fixtures.

Nyasa Big Bullets will host PremierBet Wizards at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre while Azam Tigers battle it out against Blue Eagles at Kalulu Stadium in Nchalo, Chikwawa.

Dwangwa and Mafco will clash at Chitowe in Dwangwa derby while Moyale Barracks face Epac FC at Mzuzu Stadium.

Silver Strikers start the campaign against Blantyre-based MTV Max Bullets at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe.

The following day, Be Forward Wanderers will host Karonga United at Kamuzu Stadium whereas Civo United will be at home against Mzuni FC.

Red Lions and fellow Malawi Defence Force (MDF) side Kamuzu Barracks clash at Balaka Stadium.

“The competition is now getting into very exciting stage. However, we expect all the competing teams to exercise fair-play because this is football, and not war,” said FAM competitions manager Gomezgani Zakazaka.

The best eight Super League teams qualify for th enational phase.

They will be joined by eight district teams that will be successful from the regional encounters. n
