Former Nyasa Big Bullets main supporters committee treasurer Bruce Tambwali has declared his interest to contest for the same position at executive level.

Tambwali told The Nation in an interview yesterday that it is time to face bigger challenges.

Aiming high: Tambwali

“In life you always need to aim high and my aspirations now are to be in charge of the club’s purse. Serving in the supporters committee does not mean that one cannot perform at an executive level.

“There is need to have someone who is open and transparent in transactions relating to financial matters at Bullets, timely updates of finances and working hand-in-hand with the marketing and supporters committees so that we can come up with vibrant income-generating strategies to boost the team’s coffers other than relying on the sponsors alone,” he said.

Tambwali also said players’ welfare will be a priority by ensuring that they are paid their salaries and allowances in time.

Bullets main supporters committee chairperson Stone Mwamadi confirmed having been approached by Tambwali of his intention to contest.

“He met us as a committee to sell us his plans and that should be the spirit. He has brilliant ideas,” he said.

Incumbent chairperson Noel Lipipa also declared his interest to contest for the hot seat so too former chairperson Kondi Msungama.

According to Mwamadi, former general secretaries Higger Mkandawire and Harold Fote are also eyeing a comeback while Lugerio Kambalame has declared his interest to contest for the position of vice-general secretary.

“So far, I can say those are the only ones that have expressed interest,” he said.
