After wowing Lilongwe fans with his celebration show at Masintha Ground, Tay Grin takes the free show to Blantyre on June 23.

The artist is celebrating his win of three awards at the recent Nyasa Music Awards. The Blantyre show will be held at Kamuzu Upper Stadium and the artist says he is excited to dance with his Blantyre fans in an outdoor performance.

Tay Grin: We have put more detail on security

“We are setting up a great stage which should befit the huge crowd. Considering that it will be a free show, we have also put more detail on security because we are treating it as a family event.

“People are encouraged to come so we can celebrate together and be part of this history,” he said.

Tay Grin said he will identify up-and-coming artists during the show to undergo an orientation workshop, just as he did in Lilongwe.

“We want to talk to these artists directly on important issues regarding music to help them grow and establish their brands,” he said.

During the Masintha show, several up-and-coming artists put up an eye-catching performance. They included Shaz, Phexado, George Chikoko, Jaden Heights, Chikondi Govati, Eugine Suwedi, Sibongile and Ken Shenkle. The performances were not only limited to music, but also dance and spoken word poetry.

Jaden Heights said: “As an upcoming artist to be offered a chance to perform at such a big platform it means a lot. If we had many people coming forward to give us that push, many artists would benefit in the industry.”
