The Trap Squad disbands

The Trap Squad, one of the country’s thriving urban music groups, has been reduced to a scatter squad following its disbandment.

Lately, the music group used to boast of active rappers Chavula and Rovolver and singers Stich Fray and Sir Patricks, but the two singers broke away, citing desire to embark on solo careers as a way of sustaining their growth.

Since the breaking of news of the disbandment, the social media has been awash with mudslinging between the remaining and break-away members.

The war of words resurfaced recently when Trap Squad founding members Ron CZ claimed in a radio interview that Stich Fray and Sir Patricks left the group over a small misunderstanding on videos.

“They asked to shoot two videos in a day which was, to me, impossible. A few days later, we just read their announcements on Facebook that they have broken away from Trap Squad. I think this was something which had been cooking up,” he said.

Chavula, Revolver and Ron CZ also alleged that the two were intending to join another label.

However, the duo distanced themselves from the alleged links to another label.

“As for me, I need growth. I want to see myself spreading my wings musically,” said Stich Fray.

Sir Patricks concurred with Stich Fray, adding that he dumped Trap Squad to concentrate on building a career he felt would connect him with people.

“It’s been a pleasure working with the Trap Squad, but I have to move on,” he said. n
