Thundu church bids farewell to Rev. Muwa

Thundu Church of the Central African Presbytery (CCAP) congregation under Blantyre City Presbytery last week held a colourful farewell ceremony for its minister the Reverend Nelson Muwa.

Muwa has served the church for five years and is being posted to Lunzu CCAP under the Blantyre North Presbytery.

Vice moderator for Blantyre City Presbytery Masautso Mbolembole pointed out the importance of people getting along with men of God assigned to them.

“Pastors are a blessing from God. People should share what they have with them in the same way pastors should serve their people diligently,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the congregation, session clerk Andrew Mtupanyama said Muwa is a man who walked the talk, helped the church grow spiritually and developed infrastructure.

“He initiated morning devotions, supported the purchasing of a bus, completion of Manse and construction of abomination block,” said Mtupanyama.

Muwa said he was thankful for the hearty farewell and support during his stay at Thundu.

Since the elevation of Thundu as a stand-alone church in 1983, Muwa has served longer than his predecessors.
