UGI golf tourney today at Thyolo Sports Club

United General Insurance (UGI)—which is one of Malawi’s leading insurance companies—will today hold a golf tournament at Thyolo Sports Club greens.

UGI business development manager Atupele Mangochi said in an interview yesterday the tournament has been organised to interact with its clients from the district.

She added that the event will be held on behalf of its business client Makandi Tea and Coffee Estate Limited.

“This is the second time for UGI to sponsor the event. We are expecting about 60 golfers to take part in this event,” said Mangochi.

She said UGI has sponsored the event as part of building relationships with its clients and at the same time help boost the golf sport in the country.

“We believe that as a company we have to contribute to the sport by making it more competitive for current and potential players. There are various trophies and prizes to be won and add competition between brokers,” said Mangochi.

Thyolo Sports Club management have since hailed UGI for taking their golf activity to their greens. n
