Unbeaten Max Bullets eye SRFL third slot

Max Bullets, who are among three unbeaten Premier Division teams, can extend their record and jump to third place when welcoming Azam Tigers Reserves today at BAT Ground.

In this Southern Region Football League (SRFL) meeting, the Bullets step onto the pitch while placed fourth with 22 points from 10 games; the latest being last Saturday’s 2-1 win over Luchenza Stars.

On the other end, Tigers, who are 14th on 10 points from 10 matches, are coming from a goalless draw against the other unbeaten side Cobbe Barracks last week.

Therefore, a win today can see the Bullets move a step up to third to displace Cobbe who only host Nyasa United on Sunday. Leaders Evirom are the other side yet to taste defeat in 12 matches.

In another game of today, there will be an Old Capital derby as Zomba United entertain Chanco at Chirunga Ground.

United are fresh from a 4-0 home win over White Eagles last Saturday, whereas Chanco beat Chitakale 3-1 last Sunday to bounce back from the previous day’s 5-3 loss to Surestream Academy.

The Noel Gobede-coached United are placed ninth and can rise by a single position to eighth. Chanco, who have four points from seven games, want to move off the foot of the 22-member second-tier league.
