The group said it was prompted to make the donation after learning that the facility was in dire need of the two machines.

Speaking during the handover ceremony on Saturday, chairperson for the group, Martha Murowa, said they have always felt the need to help the centre as this was not the first time to make such a donation, having donated benches and labour ward beds about five years ago.

In his remarks, Zingwangwa Health Centre facility-in-charge Young Chisanga said the machines will benefit the centre a lot as they had been facing challenges whenever babies were born with breathing difficulties.

“The machines will help a lot as we will be using them while waiting to ferry the newborns to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital,” he said.  n
