Zokonda Amayi Macheza Friday
Malawi Broadcasting Corporation’s (MBC) Radio 1 interactive programme, Zokonda Amayi will this Friday bring women together at its annual celebrations named Zokonda Amayi Macheza at Comesa Hall in Blantyre.
The event will attract 500 women from across the country representing a demographic of listeners from all walks of life governed under the theme networking in progress.
MBC public relations officer Ruth Gama says the State-broadcaster has organised the event to compliment Zokonda Amayi interactive forum fans.
“As a servant of the people, MBC with a deep sense of pride and thanks to its audiences and clients for their continued support and patronage over the years to Zokonda Amayi Programme in recognition of the huge support MBC Zokonda Amayi Programme gets from its fans and programme sponsors,” says Gama.
According to Gama, the event will start at 10am with women cheering the sick at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital and, later from 6pm, dine with the First Lady Gertrude Mutharika at Sunbird Mount Soche.
Zokonda Amayi is, besides a greeting forum, a platform where women interact with one another and debate on topical issues affecting their lives.
All this is spiced up with tips on critical topics such as business, health, cookery, finance and beauty amid popular music.
It also creates an enabling environment for women to discuss and debate issues that affect their daily lives and social welfare of women in the country by connecting them to each other and the corporate world thereby empowering them and uplifting their lives.
