One hundred golfers are expected to assemble today at Blantyre Sports Club for a two-day Continental Discount House Investment Bank (CDHIB) open stroke play championship.

The competition committee member Charles Merrick said K200 000 is at stake to anyone who slots Hole-In-One in this tournament.

“This will be an exciting championship; hence open to all golfers from. Let me assure the public that we will re-launch Hole-In-One competition with price money of K200 000 to anyone who will stab that slot,” said Merrick.

The competition will be played on stroke format with three divisions such that the first three winners from each division will be awarded trophies.

“I am looking forward to this championship as CDHIB will bring fun and excitement,” said Colin Sibande, one of the participants.

Chief executive officer for CDHIB Misheck Esau said in an interview that the bank will continue treating its customers through golf competitions.

He, however, said this is not the first time that the company is sponsoring such kind of a sport in the country.

“We have set this tournament to further communicate with the public.

“We also want to showcase our products and inform them about the newly launched Prime Investor Account Promotion through this tournament.

Esau said they want customers to open a Prime Investor Account and maintain a minimum balance of K 1 million to stand a chance of winning K1 million as a first grand prize.
