15 yr old in custody for murder
A 15 year old boy is in police custody in Nchalo-Chikwawa for allegedly killing his 12 year old girl last week Thursday through strangulation.
The boy,(name withheld) is alleged to have made sex advances on the girl who was a relative to his uncle’s wife.
Nchalo Officer in Charge Eluby Simfukwe confirmed the incident.
She identified the deceased as Dorothy Mpuluka from Sekeni village in the area of Traditional Authority Lundu in the district.
“They were both wards to Mr. and Mrs. Kenedy and during the night of 3rd March, the boy tried to persuade Dorothy to have sex with him but she refused. Early in the morning, Dorothy reported the matter to her aunt who advised them to follow religious morals.
“When the Aunt left the house for the market, Charles strangled the girl, laid her on the bed and left the house,” said Simfukwe.
She added that the boy was taken to police by some relatives few hours later where he admitted committing the offence, saying he was furious that she reported him to the aunt.
Post-mortem from St Montfort hospital proved that the girl died due to manual strangulation.
