16-yr-old boy stabbed to death in Thyolo

Childs play has led to two teenagers being charged with murder in Thyolo.

Police are holding the two youngsters for allegedly stabbing to death a 16-year colleague with a sharp knife.

Thyolo Police Station publicist Edith Likaka said all the teenagers comes from Chafuta Village, T/A Tomasi in Thyolo.

Likaka said the two suspects, aged 14 and 13, fought with the deceased after picking a quarrel.

“In the course of the fight, the deceased took a knife to stab one of the arrested boys.

“To defend himself, the targeted boy overpowered the deceased and grabbed the knife from him. Then he stabbed him in the abdomen,” said Likaka in a statement.

The victim fell down and was rushed to Thyolo District Hospital while unconscious and he was referred to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital and died four days later.
