2358 candidates sit for MSCE in Nsanje

Nsanje District chief education officer McShades Dakamau has said about 2 358 candidates are sitting for the 2024 Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations in the district which started yesterday.

He said in an interview all examination question papers reached examination centres on time, adding that invigilators and security are also in place.

Said Dakamau: “Out of 2 358 registered candidates, 1 455 are boys while 903 are girls. Last year, we had about 1 698 candidates registered for the same and 594 were girls. “

Kashitigu: Everything is in order

Bangula Secondary School head teacher Nelson Joseph Chabwera, whose school produced a female candidate who scored 14 points last year, said all 264 candidates were ready for examinations.

Concurring with Chabwera was Nyamadzere Community Day Secondary School head teacher Leah Zambasa Nyowani said they had 242 candidates, comprising 144 boys and 98 girls.

Malawi Nation Examinations Board spokesperson Angella Kashitigu said everything is in place for the smooth administration of the examinations.

“This year we have 184 978 candidates across the country and out of this figure, 99 787 are boys and 88 191 are girls,” she said.
