41-year-old security man commits suicide

Forty one-year-old man has hanged himself using an electric wire in the last floor of Magetsi House at City Center in Malawi’s capital city, Lilongwe.
The man who police have identified as Harold Macpherson Makawa from Nyezelera Village, Traditional Authority Kaduya in Phalombe District, southern Malawi, left no suicide note.
Makawa was working as a temporary security guard at Magetsi House.
Lilongwe Police Station spokesperson Kingsley Dandaula said they found no suicide note with the deceased.
Police found Makawa dead at around 7am today.
His body has been taken to Kamuzu Central Hospital for postmortem.
“When police heard about the case, our friends from Lingadzi Police rushed to the scene and they found Makawa dead. No suicide note was found on him, as such, it is not yet known why he killed himself,” said Dandaula.
