Good people, time is a cheetah!

It doesn’t fly. It is the fastest animal in this transitory world of ours.

Such has been the speed of the hands of time in the year just gone by and nobody can adequately re-live the up and down in the year ended without missing a great deal of detail along the way.

This is why I will not bother turning back the hands of time, taking stock of the things we did right or wrong, but wish you a more entertaining and arty 2015.

You are the reason we are.

Mzuzu is ill famed as a fun-starved city—whatever that means!

But that was not the figure R&B star Lulu found when he performed before 27 at Mzuzu Tourist Lodge on Sunday, a show in which he was supposed to show fun-seekers the type of equipment befitting him.

This was probably the lowliest attended show in the city where the likes of Skeffa Chimoto and Lucius Banda have had great audiences not once, not twice—but more than three years.

I am informed that it rained the day Lulu was supposed to make up with the heartbroken fans who had endured the sight of seeing him walk away in protest to shoddy equipment one November afternoon four weeks ago.

I think it poured.

I am made to believe that when Lulu rebuffed bad instruments on November 30, he was only protecting his name and desire to give the audience his very best.  Through the highly publicized peaceful demonstration, the talented young man was only saying: “If you want me, don’t leave room for excuses for onlookers will judge on account of what I do not what I would have done if I had the best tools I asked for.”

But just when you think Lulu is no bad carpenter, a story is disheartening that he was spotted in action at Wakawaka, Lilongwe, playing a bit-part role at a Lucius Banda show soon after snubbing a starring role.

It is not strange that some people did not turn up for the show because the snub left them more furious than a woman scorned.

But one thing was clear at the reunion show: A truckload of quality equipment is nothing without  the ears to pay homage to its sounds crystal clear and good for the ear.

Surely, a customer is a king. Even a customer who doesn’t care the quality of music tearing the eardrums.
