CRFA general secretary Bernard Harawa expressed gratitude to Chipiku for the commitment in developing football in the region.

“We had a meeting with Chipiku management on Wednesday where they told us about the good news, but they have not disclosed how much they will pump into the league,” said Harawa.

The pact between CRFA and Chipiku currently is that the sponsorship is done on annual basis as there is no contract.

“The tradition is that at the end of each season we submit an activity report and once they get satisfied, they renew the sponsorship. We do not have a long-term contract with them,” he said.

During the press briefing, Harawa also announced that prize presentation for the three divisions in the Chipiku League will take place on April 27 at Police Headquarters Mess in Area 30.

“It is during that function that Chipiku will announce details of their sponsorship for next season,” said Harawa.

Dedza Young Soccer Stars are the Premier Division champions whereas Hungry Lions are Division One winners. Kamuzu Barracks Youth won the Division Two crown.
