World Bank has partnered Tevet Authority to increase access, market relevance and results orientation of supported skills development institutions under a project worth K200 million.

Tevet Authority executive director Ndione Chauluka said this has been done to address some shortfalls the Bretton Wood institution discovered in their research on education system in Malawi in 2010.Mzuzu_tech_college

The authority formalised the initiative with the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) in Lilongwe at the weekend.

NCHE chief executive officer Matilda Munthali assured the authority that the project will achieve its intended goals.

“Our role is to coordinate the project and we will also be supporting five institutions so that they enhance and build their capacities,” she said.
