Wanderers demand cut from Sulumba deal
Be Forward Wanderers has demanded a cut from Nyasa Big Bullets if striker Muhammad Sulumba succeeds during trials at Danish second division outfit Herforge BoldKlub.
Nomads general secretary Mike Butao said they made the demand in a letter that asks Bullets to release the player for the trials planned for this month.
“We have spent our time and resources to facilitate the trials. Based on this, we felt that it was necessary that Bullets pays us compensation,” he said.
Butao said Bullets has not yet responded to the letter.
Bullets vice-general secretary Kelvin Moyo confirmed receiving communication from Wanderers, but said they have not decided on the way forward.
“The executive committee will meet after our weekend games against Zimbabwe outfit Dynamos to make a determination,” he said.
The Nomads had earlier resolved to foil the player’s trials after Sulumba penned a three-year deal with their rivals.
The move came despite Wanderers strong willingness to permanently sign the player after the expiry of his season-long loan.
Sulumba, Nselema, midfielder Isaac Kaliati and defender Ted Sumani were spotted by Herforge coach Lars Jensen when he visited the country in December last year.
Sulumba and Nselema fly to Denmark in two weeks’ time while Kaliati and Sumani will go later in the year. n
