Rainbow Netball League action back
Rainbow Paints Southern Region Netball League (SRNL) throws off tomorrow with lip-smacking fixtures at Blantyre Youth Centre (BYC).
Defending champions Tigresses take on Alliance Capital Stars while Airtel Money Netball champions Kukoma Diamonds face Shizaella Queens.
Chilomoni Sisters play host to Prison Sisters while Young Professionals face Gerald Tasaukadala Sisters.
“All is set for crunchy encounters this Saturday,” said SRNL general secretary Annie Hanjahanja-Billie. “However, we plead with the clubs to observe fair play and avoid behaving in a way that might annoy our hard-earned sponsors.”
However, Rainbow Paints commercial manager Bruno Silas said the league will be officially opened next week.
“Our love for netball continues to thrive. Therefore, we have given SRNL a go ahead to throw off the season as we plan for a thrilling opening ceremony next week,” he said.
This will be the second year for Rainbow Paints to sponsor the league. Last season they pumped in K4 million sponsorship after OG Issa Group of Companies’ pulled out.
