Ngalande speaks on future

Flames on-and-off forward Robin Ngalande has ruled out any possibility of relaunching his career with a local club.

This comes amidst reports linking the supremely gifted striker to some teams such as Masters Security, Nyasa Big Bullets, Be Forward Wanderers and Silver Strikers.

Ngalande has been without a club since last year when he agreed to a mutual termination of his contract with South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Bidvest Wits following a futile loan stint at Platinum Stars.

He also hinted on the prospects of relaunching his career abroad in August as he now wants to pursue further studies.

“I have something coming up for August, but for now I want to further my studies a bit until July. So, I am chilled for now at home,” he said.

The gifted forward, who was touted as Africa’s next Samuel Eto’o while playing for Atletico Madrid’s youth side in Spain, has also not played for the Flames for a while.

However, ambitious TNM Super League candidates Masters Security and Bullets confirmed that they are chasing the player’s signature.

Masters Security owner and patron Alfred Gangata confirmed that he sent officials last week to meet Ngalande at his home in Dedza.

“In principle he has accepted to join us because what he said was that he wants to pursue studies in Lilongwe and, as such, he would be willing to play for us during his free time.

“He also mentioned that he wasn’t willing to join any of the three big teams [Bullets, Wanderers or Silver]. We are optimistic that he will add value to the team owing to his talent, exposure and experience,” he said.

However, the 24-year-old former Civo United, Atletico Madrid Youth, Wits, Ajax Cape Town and Platinum Stars forward said it was not true that he was joining Masters Security.

But could neither deny nor confirm whether the club made advances on him.n
