All set for Chipiku prize presentation
Chipiku Central Region Football Association (CRFA) will tomorrow hold the 2016 prize presentation at Police Headquarters in Area 30, Lilongwe.
The ceremony was supposed to take place last Saturday, but it was postponed at the eleventh hour because sponsors from Chipiku Stores were outside the country.
The league ended last year in December with Masters Security earning a TNM Super League promotion after they were crowned Premier League champions.
Manda said CRFA expectations are high that sponsorship will be increased.
“We have cordial relationship with the sponsors [Chipiku Stores]; they are impressed with the way we run the league. We will be very glad if the sponsorship shoots to K15 million or more|,” said Manda.
Mkangama declined to comment on whether they would increase the sponsorship.
Top five teams will be awarded in all the three divisions.
In the Premier League, champions Masters Security, runners-up Holly Cross Ambassadors, third-placed Airborne Rangers, fourth-placed Support Battalion and Dedza Young Soccer on fifth position will be recognised.
In Division One, champions Lake Valley, runners-up Food FC, Jidi who were third, fourth-placed Engineers Battalion and Ocasor on fifth position, are in prize getting ranks.
In Division two, the teams that finished in top five are champions Tontolinto, runners-up Play Football Malawi, third-placed Mpingu, Joko Pirates on fourth position and Area 25 FC.
Other awards include Top Goal scorer, Most Disciplined Team and Player of the Season.
Chipiku will also award outstanding journalists in both print and electronic categories.
Chipiku Stores sponsor the league to the tune of K9 million.
