Limbe Police rearrest suspects
Police in Blantyre recently rearrested Brian Hassan Idi Murula (38) who bolted from Limbe Police Station cells after his arrest in connection with a robbery last month.
Police said Murula was rearrested alongside Matthews Pezani Chimombo Nkhoma (31) in Ndirande Township following a tip off from the public.
Malawi Police Service national spokesperson Davie Chingwalu said people were suspicious of the two who were staying in the same house without a proper source of income.
Said Chingwalu: “During the arrest, the two were found with three laptops, a Samsung cell phone, a Nokia cell phone, an iPhone, television screens and several foreign currencies from Ethiopia, China and Yugoslavia.â€
In May, police said they had instituted investigations on the mysterious disappearance of suspected criminals who have been on the law enforcers’ watch list for years.
