We have talked about how to take care of your skin during summer… summer dressing… how to keep fresh… but have you shaped up your body ready for the summer holidays?  There’s no better time than now to get your summer body!  With only a few weeks to go before the festive holidays begin, it’s not too late to create a diet plan and a workout program that will boost your confidence and give you good health.

Your summer body should not be short term, but regard it as “lifestyle change”, that will make lasting changes to impact your future.

It all begins with what you put into your mouth.  Your diet can make or break your weight loss goals.  The power of what you eat and what kind of control you have over your weight loss as far as food is concerned matters a lot.

Eating natural and foods high in protein found in chicken, fish, and lean meat will help you perform better and is great for building muscle, while vegetables and fruits are necessary for health and immune-system support.  Water is naturally filling and can help curb the appetite hence help increase weight loss.

Your eating plan should include foods low in calories like fruits, vegetables, whole wheat bread and pasta, brown rice and oats, which will help you lose weight while keeping you healthy at the same time.  Avoid foods that are high in sugars like cakes, cookies, doughnuts, sodas and candy, which are quick to digest and if not burned off with exercise right away, your body will store as fat.

Although dieting alone can help you lose weight, the process is slow since you have to burn more calories to speed up your metabolism and this can only be achieved by incorporating cardio into your workout, and believe me, you will get the results you have been waiting for.

By adding an exercise program to your weight-loss program, you will boost your metabolism, making it even easier for you to lose those extra pounds.  Start out today by riding a bike, work your way up from 10 minutes to 30 minutes a day on cardio exercise, consistent strength training for all your muscle groups like push-ups, sit-ups, squats, calf raises, triceps, and leg lifts.  Repeat these exercises at least four times a week, and you will be assured of a well-toned body within three weeks.

Now that you know how to tone your body for the beach and show off your new summer body, you don’t have to worry about getting into that swimsuit that compliments your body shape!
