AAM shifts Presidential Championships
The Athletics Association of Malawi (AAM) has shifted regional Presidential Athletics Championships, initially slated for today, to May 31.
According to AAM president Godfrey Phiri, the change of dates comes after district sports officers complained that they had little time to identify and polish athletes for the regional encounters which were scheduled for Chirunga in Zomba, Kamuzu Institute for Sports (KIS) in Lilongwe and Mzuzu Stadium.
“They said we gave them short notice because they needed at least three weeks to identify their athletes, unlike the one week we gave them,” said Phiri.
He said the national finals will take place at KIS in the first week of July.
