Chipiku Central Region Football League (CRFL) leaders, Adams, are set to earn maximum points to safeguard their seat on points.

Adams displaced Kamuzu Barracks (KB) at the top (65 points) on goal difference after edging Support Battalion 2-0 on Saturday.

The leaders have two assignments this weekend, which give them a chance to safeguard the top seat as KB have a single assignment.

Tomorrow, Adams host Kungoni, and visit Maicc FC in Mponela on Sunday.

Their team manager Issa Bunaya said on Thursday that they are looking for full points to safeguard the seat.

“We want to be on position one on points, not on goal difference. Our boys are geared to win both games. We have rectified problems that we faced in the first round and we are optimistic about winning the league title this season,” he said.

Maicc FC, vice-general secretary Mike Mchawa Banda, cautioned the leaders to tread carefully.

“They have been giving us tough time in the past years, but we want to bring that embarrassment to an end,” said Banda.

In their first-round encounter, Adams came from behind to force a 2-2 draw.

In another development, Area 18-based Ossa Stars edged Mbuna United 3-1 on Saturday to register their first win in 18 games.
