Airtel golf moves to BSC today

Airtel Golf Tournament descends on the Blantyre Sports Club fairway today following a similar successful golf event which the mobile telecommunication service providers hosted at M’bawa Country Club last Friday.

Airtel public relations manager Edith Tsirizani said the tournament tees off at 12.30pm with various prizes at stake for the winners in men’s and ladies’ categories.

It will be played on an individual stable-ford format over the 18 holes. In this tournament, players likely to watch are John-Gift Mwakhwawa and Carol Banda who emerged champions for men’s and ladies’ categories of the inaugural 2014 Airtel Golf Tournament at Mibawa, Bvumbwe.

“Let me assure you that wherever you go to host another tournament, you will be followed, not because of the prizes, but because of the brand name and how you keep it,” Mwakhwawa said in his victory speech last week.

Airtel chief commercial officer Charles Kamoto last Friday said they were using such tournaments as a platform for interacting with and getting feedback from their customers.
