Airtel Money national netball tourney finals fire up Blantyre City

The crusade to claim the ultimate MK7 million (about $16 000) prize money in the Airtel Money netball feast hits a climax this weekend as the national finals take off at the Blantyre Youth Centre.

Style, celebration, pomp and colour ignited the morale higher as the trophy was being paraded from Airtel offices in Limbe to the Youth Centre through the Masauko Chipembere Highway today.

airtelThe procession commenced soon after Airtel and Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) handed over brand new netball knits to the sixteen teams that will be battling it out in this historical netball feast.

Airtel Money Marketing Manager Masiye Mazaza said through the netball sponsorship, a lot of talent and excitement has been generated across the country.

airtel1Meanwhile, the teams commence their court war to claim the ultimate MK7 million cash money which will be given to the champions on Sunday.

The runners up will receive a MK2.5 million (about $6 000) cash prize.

Airtel broke the record in Malawi’s netball sphere following the unveiling of a MK360 million (about $858 000) national netball sponsorship last year.

The sponsorship will run for three years.
